I’m talking to a lot of people at the moment who feel down about the current situation: Omicron, the government’s response and the effect on their businesses, and now Russia’s war on Ukraine. The bad news can be hard to escape from at the moment. “Trying to zone out and distract yourself from reality by binge-watching Netflix may not be enough — instead, the answers to the questions below can be clues for what you can do to re-zone (as opposed to zoning out). Re-zoning can help you to focus on something new in a healthy way
- What were your interests and focus, prior to going into business?
- What did you used to do for fun, leisure, and enjoyment?
- What is a key life skill you are overdue, yet keen, to learn about?
- What friendships might require some maintenance and renewed connection?
Put some of these into practice and you may find yourself in a better mindset to get through these tough times.”
