Professional sportspeople often display the same qualities as those very best businesspeople – and it’s these traits that allow them each to be successful in their individual space. Traits like determination, dedication, the willingness to put in hard yards, focus, goal setting and the ability to come back, time after time, from setbacks or defeats. Hamish Carter is one prime example: after his disappointing 26th placing in Sydney he showed determination, dedication, focus etc to make an exciting comeback of the best kind – winning gold at Athens.
I admire what Hamish has achieved and am very excited that he’s coming along to speak at Nurture Change in November about performing under pressure and how to reset yourself and your team after a defeat.
