My business coaching client Lizzi Hines is a dynamite entrepreneur. Her core business Spaceworks, which specialises in office, hospo and retail design fit-outs, is going great guns (more on that below). Then she launched Pop Up Now, a business that connects landlords and real estate agents with retailers wanting short-term leases for pop-up shops. Then residential design company Room x Room. And now she’s launched Shave Union, a subscription-based business that deliver razors on a regular basis.
Her business acumen is spot on so I was proud to hear she’s been announced as a finalist in the Business & Innovation category of the NEXT Woman of the Year. My fingers are crossed, Lizzi!
Lizzi has recently joined the exec board for the New Zealand Retail Interior Association (NZRIA) and is on the industry advisory board for the Massey University Retail & Business Management Degree.
In an innovative move, Spaceworks have partnered with the AUT MARS (Marketing, Advertising, Retail & Sales) department, incorporating the university’s research into their designs which will then be tested on how they maximise sales and understand the kiwi buyer behaviour. Very cool to get metrics around the impact of a store design!
And some huge wins: Spaceworks were announced as finalists for the prestigious Best Design Wards for the design of the Spark stores and won three awards at the recent Retail Awards for their Spark and Lightplan fit-outs.
Way to go, guys!
