Have you been out for coffee this week? Alone? So often we get bogged down with day-to-day issues, all those small things we’re told not to sweat over, at the expense of the big picture stuff we really should be perspiring over. A great quote I heard recently (from one of Business Changing’s fantastic clients, Lizzi at Spaceworks – more on her later this month) was to spend time “on” the business, not “in” the business. Step away from the desk, people – literally. Book some time in your diary to get out of the office and have a coffee alone, sans phone, laptop, tablet or even newspaper. Take along a paper and pen and give yourself at least half an hour to just mull over the state of your business. Write down where you want it to be and what you need to focus on to get it there. It may seem too big a task to solve in one small coffee break, but that’s often the best way to deal with sizeable problems or issues. As they say, how do you eat an elephant? One spoonful at a time. So do it now: book yourself a solo coffee and pick up that spoon…
Oh and if you want a software app to help here, you know who to contact 🙂 And for business coaching and planning…
